Oh, you want context

Some people have a midlife crisis. I made a list.

I’m Medley, mom to one remarkable human, devoted to Fezzik (emotional support chaos agent in a dog suit), music obsessive, cottager, and person who owns an amount of yarn that will not be discussed at this time.

Somewhere in the chaos of living, I misplaced myself. Not dramatically, no burning anything down, no dramatic reinvention character arc. Just quietly, the way you lose a sock. There one day, gone the next. Annoying.

So naturally I made a list of fifty things to do before I turn fifty. In one year. While also having a job. And a dog who needs things, and a daughter that sometimes still needs her mom. And way too much yarn, but I digress.

This Side of December is where I’m documenting all of it. The good, the bad, the moments we might not need to dwell on, the things that scare me a little, and the things that make my daughter slowly shake her head.
